How do you measure success? Hard work and ethical behavior are the means to an end.
What do you do to relax? I love to cook and garden. A day in the garden is heaven to me. When time permits, cooking and baking all my favorites makes me happy (my husband too!).
If someone asked you for advice on getting into business, what advice would you tell them? Make a plan, have a good foundation… And expect to work hard, really hard. Educate yourself and know as much about your endeavor as possible. Listen to people you trust and respect. Don’t be afraid to ask questions.

Did you have a turning point in your life or career? Yes, I started selling real estate at Kathy Stefan Real Estate in 1984. There, I met a woman by the name of Ruth McHugh who was incredibly funny, quick witted, and could size up a situation better than anyone I had ever met – I seized the opportunity of making a great friend and business mentor.
What do you like best about being in real estate? It’s a privilege to meet a diverse group of people with interesting backgrounds and life stories and be able to provide a service to them and their families.
What are some of your favorite movies or shows? Favorite movie – Out of Africa. I love theatre as well and Cabaret is one of my favorites.
What is your favorite musician / band? James Taylor.
What do you value most in a friend? Honesty, tactfulness, a sense of adventure and a great sense of humor.
