Interview with REALTOR® Scott Rebmann

Scott Rebmann, REALTOR®, spent 20 years in Tucson, AZ where he explored his passion for food by owning and operating his own cafe and catering business after attending the University of Missouri-Columbia. Real estate beckoned him, and he discovered his love of historic homes. Scott then purchased and renovated two beautiful properties in Tucson.

In 2009, he moved to Washington, D.C. where he honed his customer service skills working with one of the metro areas top producing real estate teams. During this time, he would often visit friends and family in western Massachusetts and fell in love with the beauty and bounty of the area. Now, he is proud and happy to be in a place that truly feels like home.

As an associate broker, he feels that one of his greatest strengths is his love of the real estate contract. “Yes, I said it...I love contracts! I see myself as your real estate concierge... You get to fall in love with the house that you will call home and it's my job to help you navigate and negotiate your way through the process; making it as easy and enjoyable as possible.” His attention to detail and great sense of perspective goes a long way in creating a smooth experience for his clients.

Five College Realtors; Scott Rebmann's Headshot

What is your motto? Not necessarily a motto, but I tell all of my clients that the most important thing when buying or selling a property is that they are comfortable with what they're doing at each step. It's my role to give options and counsel, but if anything feels uncomfortable to them, then they shouldn't do it.

What are you currently reading? I've been doing a lot of audio books. Perfect while at the gym or driving. Right now it's Weyward by Emilia Hart. Before that it was City of the Lost by Kelley Armstrong, The Hunter by Tania French and Be Ready When the Luck Happens by Ina Garten.

How do you measure success? Knowing that I did my job or whatever task I was working on at the moment, with honesty and integrity.

What do you do to relax? I work out, which sets my mindset every morning, and I love to cook. This year I'm going to start doing more gardening.

What do you consider your greatest achievement? My sobriety.

If someone asked you for advice on getting into the real estate business, what advice would you tell them? It's a very rewarding career, but it takes some time to get established so have some patience. You will get out of it as much as you put into it.

What are your favorite parts of living in the Five College Area? I love the natural beauty, the welcoming communities. Western MA is an easy way of life. Having lived in Tucson for many years, I really love having all four seasons!

What are you currently streaming / watching? The newest season of The Amazing Race. I just finished Paradise.

Did you have a turning point in your life or career? In my career, it was after being in the business for 3 years, when I realized that I was able to support myself without having a 2nd job. It became my full time career and it's been that way ever since. In life, it was getting sober in 2001. Life got exponentially better after that.

What do you like best about being in real estate? It's an amazing honor to help someone buy a home. We all love our homes. It's our safe space, it's where some of our best memories are created. It's awesome to drive around and know that I sold that home or listed that one.

What are some of your favorite movies or shows? 30 Rock, Veep and Schitt's Creek for laughs. The West Wing for the writing and acting

What is your favorite musician / band? So much good music comes to mind. When driving I usually listen to the classical station. And am a fan of anything 80's... It's what I grew up with and it's the best! And I love a good soundtrack from a musical!
